The Honorable William R. (Roger) Mullins, Ret., endorses Rob Davis

Ponca City, Okla - The Honorable William R. (Roger) Mullins, Ret., has announced his official endorsement of Rob Davis in his candidacy for District Judge of the 8th Judicial District. The Honorable Mullins has previously served the 8th Judicial District as Kay County Special District Judge (1971-1972), Kay County Associate District Judge (1972-1986) and a US Federal Administrative Law Judge (1986-2020).

“To the Voters of Oklahoma 8th Judicial District

Kay and Noble Counties

The Purpose of this letter is to Recommend Rob Davis for District Judge. Over 50 years ago, the Legislature of Oklahoma recreated the Court system for the State. In so doing, the many state courts that existed at the time were eliminated. Now there is only one state court, the District Court. In that legislation, 3 levels of Judges were created: Special District Judge, Associate District Judge and the District Judge. A key element of that legislation was the elimination of Judges running on a particular political party. Now all Oklahoma Judges are selected on a non-partisan basis. The reason for that is to eliminate Judges being obligated to any political party.

By eliminating allegiance to any particular party, the voters should now be required to look at the basic requirements for Judge. Those requirements being honesty, integrity and a basic sense of fairness. Equally important is the appearance of those same qualities and ability to treat all participants who appear in court with dignity; be they plaintiffs, defendants, witnesses, jurors and all court staff.

Rob Davis has all of these qualities and will make an excellent Judge in our Judicial District. I would encourage you to vote for Rob Davis for District Judge,” said William R. (Roger) Mullins.

Davis is currently serving as an Assistant District Attorney in the 8th Judicial District, which is comprised of Kay and Noble Counties. Davis said he was very honored to earn this endorsement.

“I consider it a high honor to receive the endorsement of a respected jurist like Judge Mullins. His considerable experience on the bench gives him unique insight into the qualities which are necessary to be a successful judge. I am thankful for his vote of confidence in my ability to serve the 8th Judicial District,”  said Davis.

Rob Davis is in the race for District Judge of the 8th Judicial District after advancing from the June Primary and defeating incumbent Judge Lee Turner. Davis received the most votes with 3,663. Davis values efficiency and transparency and is committed to running a campaign based on the issues facing our district. Voting for District Judge will be part of  the General Election ballot on November 3, 2026.
